EBC’s Graduating Class of 2021

Dear Class of 2021 and Parents/ Guardians, 

East Brooklyn Community High School congratulates you on your hard work and endurance. We are excited to invite you to our Virtual Graduation Celebration and In-Person Diploma Reception. We sincerely acknowledge the sense of loss many of you may be feeling during these uncertain times.  It's okay to be a little sad and disappointed. However, we applaud the many efforts you are making to remain optimistic and complete graduation requirements.

Here are the details associated with EBC’s graduation celebrations:

East Brooklyn Community (“EBC”) will be acknowledging our Class of 2021 via Instagram (follow us: @EBCHS1), via Zoom (zoom.us or the Zoom app), and in person. We ask that graduates join us for each event, particularly the ones highlighted below.

A long standing tradition of our graduation is the individual recognition of the strength and resilience our graduates have shown in overcoming a variety of obstacles to earn their diploma. At every graduation each student has a staff member recite a speech acknowledging this amazing accomplishment. Students are also given the opportunity to come to the microphone and celebrate their success. In keeping with this tradition, beginning the week of June 21st, EBC will begin to release graduation speeches and photo montages for each graduating student via our website and Instagram.

On Tuesday, June 22nd, 2021 at 10am, we invite all graduates to come up to the school to pick up their Cap and Gown. Graduates will also have an opportunity to finalize their post secondary plans at an event we call "My Plan Day."

On Thursday, June 24th, 2021 at 12pm, East Brooklyn will be using Zoom for our online celebration. Students will have an opportunity to meet with the rest of the school community virtually, hear words of encouragement and be acknowledged for graduating high school. The link is below.

On Thursday, June 24th, 2021 at 2pm, we will be having our diploma reception outside of our school. Graduates and families are invited for a walk-thru celebration with us where we will be distributing diplomas, handing out gift cards, senior goodie bags, and the family will have an opportunity to take photos of the graduate receiving their diploma. Every student must arrive at their appointment time. Appointment times will be on the flyer being text to families and students. If you want to know your time, reply to this email. ***THIS WILL BE THE ONLY OPPORTUNITY FOR GRADS TO PICK-UP THEIR DIPLOMA BEFORE SEPTEMBER DUE TO OUR BUILDING BEING CLOSED OVER THE SUMMER***
